a portrait of your basin [2022]
This is an ongoing project where I visit peoples' homes and photograph their basins. This project stems from my interest in how a shared amenity inhabits the most private space in the home, the bathroom. I believe basins can reflect people's' attitudes to the space they inhabit and share. Through doing this project I hope to explore how we interact with the spaces and people around us. This project piques my interest in documentary photography and has helped me realise this is something I wish to pursue further.
I'm in the process of changing my approach to this project. Instead of going to take the images myself I want to create a body of work whereby individuals can upload their own images to this collection - due to the nature of this project I feel that keeping the participants anonymous would be best, as I would like the participants to be honest and I feel that by going and taking the photographs myself may affect the outcome.
